Dreaming with eyes WIDE open

We have never been in the year 2020 before and yes, it is such a natural instinct to term and purpose the year as one of 2020 vision, but is that such a co-incidence? Isn’t that such an encouragement from the Lord to use the natural day to day flows to create a rhythm of our own, one that is in line with Him and His purposes and plans for us?

My husband bought us a book last year, titled “how to create a LIFE PLAN” and it lays out what a Life Plan is and guides the reader to set up and write one for themselves. I have recently completed writing mine and I can resonate with this description of 2020 vision:

20/20 vision is a term used to express normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet. Having 20/20 vision does not necessarily mean you have perfect vision. 20/20 vision only indicates the sharpness or clarity of vision at a distance. Other important vision skills, including peripheral awareness or side vision, eye coordination, depth perception, focusing ability and color vision, contribute to your overall visual ability.” https://www.aoa.org

Setting an overall goal or specific purpose for the year is great! In fact, it is amazing, and it is encouraged the world over, but a life goal only provides the normal visual clarity or sharpness of vision measured from a distance.

A Life Plan, which involves selecting various areas of your life, and determining specific details and practical steps for you to excel in each of those areas and therefore to fulfill that Life Plan, contributes to the overall ability of you living a life on purpose and with purpose. It’s the process of including the ‘other important vision skills, including peripheral awareness, eye co-ordination, depth perception, focusing ability and colour vision’ which add amazing richness to your overall visual ability, and create a much more vibrant, focused and abundant life.

I was gifted with pajamas in early December and the text printed on the shirt says “Dreaming with eyes wide open” I love that. It hints at dreaming with purpose and not just being lost in a dreamworld daze. It suggests vision of dreaming the big purposeful dreams, with your feet firmly planted on the grounds of reality and hard work to obtain them. And it speaks of miracles. Cos can you really dream with your eyes wide open?

Lets plunge into 2020, with not only 2020 vision, but the detailed plans to attain and enrich that vision and with hearts to dream with our eyes wide open!
