Locked down with Jesus: LIGHT OF THE WORLD

RSA Lockdown // Season 2

John 8:12 “I am the light of the world”

A German tradition we have adopted at Christmas time is to get a real Christmas tree and to place real candles on the branches. We light these on Christmas Eve as we share dinner and enjoy opening presents together. The candles create an ambience, unite us as a family in our tradition, and provide both light and warmth to our home.

Johns gospel tells us that Jesus is the light of the world. He loves to presence Himself with us, unite us in heart and ignite us with hope.

As we continue living through lockdown and as we may feel despair or darkness seeping into our lives. As fear of the unknown and uncertainty of the future creeps in like darkness to overwhelm us, let us look to The light of the World. Let us invite Him and His presence into our daily rhythms. Let us also BE the light of the world (Matthew 5:14) and continue to unite and connect with our loved ones and our neighbours. And let’s ignite and keep hope alive as we cling to and look to the light of the world to dispel the darkness. John 8:12 ” Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

[If you do not have the assurance of Jesus as The light of the World for your life, I would love to hear from you]
