Locked down with Jesus: PRINCE OF PEACE

RSA Lockdown // Season 2 // Day 2 // 18 April

Isaiah 9:6, “And he will be called…..Prince of Peace.” {NIV}

When considering what it’s like for Jesus to be the Prince of Peace for me, I was reminded of when Jesus calms the storm in Mark 4:37-39. “And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” {ESV}

Three things I noticed from these verses: Firstly, Jesus is in the boat with the disciples. Secondly, when the storm broke out, they called on Him, and thirdly, Jesus calms the storm, saying to the waves, “Peace! Be still!” and the outcome is “a great calm“.

In the crazy confusion and chaos of the storm, we as a globe are facing, with the Corona Virus, I am reminded that Jesus, the Prince of Peace is with us. He is in this storm with us. Jesus, the Prince of Peace longs for us to pray and to call on Him. He desires a relationship with us, so patiently waits for us to come to Him in prayer, with thankful hearts, crying out for His presence and peace. Lastly, Jesus the Prince of Peace says to us today, “ Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10) He is in control and it is in Him that we find complete peace for each day!

[If you do not have that assurance of Jesus as your Prince of Peace, I would love to hear from you]
