5 December. Day 5.
After reading Luke Chapter 5 this evening, I just want to leave 5 scriptures with you – and you can ponder them in your heart and mind. Think of them as “5 golden rings” as the song, The Twelve Days of Christmas sings. Or 5 golden nuggets – a small morsel that is completely satisfying.
- Luke 5: 5 “Simon answered, “Master we worked hard all night trying to catch fish, but we caught nothing. But you say to put the nets in the water; so I will.”” {ICB}
- Luke 5:15 “But Jesus often slipped away to other places to be alone so that he could pray. {ICB}
- Luke 5:20 And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”” {ESV}
- Luke 5:31 and 32 “Jesus answered them, Healthy people don’t need a doctor. It is the sick who need a doctor. I have not come to invite good people, I have come to invite sinners to change their hearts and lives!”” {ICB}
- Luke 5:37 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.”{ESV}
When golden nuggets are found, they are treasured, largely due to the fact that they could have taken much time to be found. As the word of God is so easily accessible to us, let us daily take advantage of this priceless resource, and continue to daily find golden nuggets that can be treasured.
