Peace by peace it all comes together.

2015 has been an amazing year for my family. It has been a year which NOTHING we had planned has happened. NOTHING we dreamed of has come true. NOTHING we wanted has materialized. And yet we have EVERYTHING!

In October 2014 we were given the sad news that we would have to vacate our duplex which we were renting. This was just dreadful. We had fallen in love with our duplex and had renovated it over a dozen times in our dreams. Where would we go, where would we live, how would we pack up all our stuff? To cut a long story short, we ended up purchasing the most beautiful, tranquil and comfortable little townhouse overlooking the Kloof conservancy with a sea view. Every day we experience the greatness of Eagles as they soar overhead, and the gentle and fragileness of butterflies fluttering around our garden.

In the process of moving into our very first home, we needed a place to stay for 3,5 months and our precious friend opened her cottage to us. During our 3,5 months there, God did the most amazing work within me-defining me-and renewing my thinking. 5 years ago I had physical heart surgery and this year God did some spiritual brain surgery.

During this time I was pondering on what peace looked like, felt like, was like and so one day I took some time to write down what peace is to me.

Peace is calm in the midst of a storm. Peace is unexplainable.                           Peace is freedom.                                   Peace is being still and knowing that He is God. Peace is being content in the space we are in. Peace is feeling happy and okay with where we are at. Peace is not worrying. Peace is trusting God. Peace is accepting the place we are in. Peace is no anxiety. Peace is stability. Peace is consistency. Peace is the solid rock. Peace is the strength to carry on……well! Peace is the feeling of space and limitless time. Peace is an eagle soaring in the air. Peace is mountains, steadfast and strong. Peace takes faith.

Mark 4:35-41; Psalm 34:14; 1Peter 3:11 (The Bible)

So as I continue on this journey and adventure of life I am certain that peace by peace it will all come together. The things I have planned and dreamed and wanted will come to be, will come true, will materialize. But for now I have everything and most of all I have peace.
