As I was sitting on the deck of my suite and enjoying the beautiful countryside on the Saturday afternoon of my night away with the girls, l noticed the birds flying to and from the trees right outside my room. There was a pretty yellow bird along with 2 of her family, a little black bird joined them and then a large dove scared them all away, and settled quite happily on the branch of the tree closest to my deck.
As I watched each of these birds, God reminded me how he takes care of them….how his creation provides food for them….how he made them to be able to build their nests wherever they are…how they care for their families and how they have a very simple life really:) As I opened my Bible to Matthew 6, I read again of Gods promise to me, ” Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?…..But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. ” Matthew 6:26&27&33.
As I spent this weekend being pampered and served and really looked after, God reminded me that life is actually very simple. I do not need to worry or be anxious for anything, for He will provide, He will take care of me, He will bless and spoil me and He will lead and guide me. And by worrying I will not add anything to my life, in fact I will only rob myself by being anxious. If I remain faithful to pursuing right standing with God, peace and joy (His Kingdom) then I know that He will equip me with all I need for life and godliness.
