I am so grateful for the very simple, yet life changing skill which my husband opened my eyes to-EVERY person has a story.
I guess I had always known this, but only after my open-heart surgery did this become a reality and something that I love and find great delight in! Everybody has a story….
As the month of October has dawned upon us again, I have a tender yet extremely grateful and celebratory attitude in my heart. It is this month of the year when I reminisce over the birth of our daughter, and my emergency surgery. I contemplate what could have been, and am so overwhelmed with the outcome we have so generously received by our gracious God. You see for us, the end of the story is mostly a happy one. The fact that I have sacrificed things like breast feeding my baby and not having the energy I would like to have to outlay with her, sometimes seem so incredibly unfair, and at other times seem so insignificant compared to the miracle that both Cianna and I are ALIVE and WELL and that we are enjoying LIFE together.
And then I think of a friend of mine who also had heart surgery this month, and who is also celebrating in the month of October at the fact that God has blessed him with new life and the chance to live it to the full! And then my mind races to another friend who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and lost her the next day and the heartache and pain that she is feeling in this month of October. My aunt and uncle & special friends celebrate their wedding anniversary this month, we celebrate a number of children’s birthdays this month, including our special girl’s and we celebrate my mom-in-laws birthday!
October means many things for many people. For some it is celebratory and for some it is heartache. To all of you, I hold you in my heart and rejoice that our God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. (Isaiah 40)
It has taken us 3 years to finally feel like we are beginning to get back on our feet after our trauma and as we have waited on The Lord, he has renewed our strength, he has enabled us to mount up on wings like eagles, to run and not grow weary and to walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40)
Glory to the Risen King!!!!
