It is amazing that we will always find time to do the things which we enjoy, go to the places that we admire and spend time with the people whom we love and who love us in return! And yet so often in life, we sit dreaming of “one day I will be able to….”
Our hearts are incredibly tender and precious organs within us….they enable our blood to circulate and therefore our body to function. Without it, we would have no life………and so our heart- ‘our feelings of love and desire’ also breathes life into our souls, igniting dreams and desires, and stirring passions and pursuits. No wonder King Solomon urges us in Proverbs 23:4 ” Above all else guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
We need to ensure that we keep our heart – ‘ our feelings of love and desire’ on the right track….following our God-given dreams and pursuing His plans and purposes which He has predestined for us!!!
What got me pondering all this was that a friend of ours took some photos of Olav, Cianna and I and has sent through some of the pics she has already downloaded and worked on. They are so beautiful…capturing some special moments, laughter and the peace of God in our eyes! My heart was overflowing with joy as I viewed each photo she forwarded to us. It felt like a wellspring of life…bubbling and bursting with excitement over moments captured with my family!
The reason these photos are so amazing is because our dear friend, Nicole, has tapped into a beautiful gift which our God has deposited within her, and it is her hearts desire to capture the restoration, or redemption, peace, or passion…the finished work of Christ in the eyes of the people on the other side of the lens. It is quite overwhelming!
Looking at these pictures has given me SUCH joy (and I have only seen 5) and I have felt the favour and love of my father in heaven pouring into my heart and over me.
Our hearts are so special….guard them, pursue the desires and dreams God has placed within them, and they will always be the the wellsprings of LIFE!
